PRP NORWEST RECEIVES NEW MRI LICENCE
Patients in the Hills district will now have more affordable access to lifesaving scans with the Federal Government’s exciting announcement of a
new Specialist and GP referred Medicare-eligible MRI licence for PRP Diagnostic Imaging Norwest.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI, is the diagnostic imaging of choice for a range of medical conditions including cancer, stroke and heart abnormalities. The government is continually supporting wider access to Medicare funded MRI examinations including the recent rebates for liver, breast and prostate imaging.
This licence will have a positive impact on the local community in their fight against cancer and other medical conditions. We are delighted that the residents of the Hills District, the third largest growth area in the Sydney region, will now have more affordable access to lifesaving scans.
PRP Norwest has been servicing the Hills district and its surrounding suburbs since it opened on November 28, 2011. Our doctor-owned and operated clinic provides an extensive range of services including cardiac, oncology, women’s imaging, ultrasound, CT, X-ray, and of course MRI. To support this licence, PRP Norwest has planned for the installation of a new MRI later this year.
"We feel honoured to have been chosen out of the 490 applications received by the Federal Government. This licence enables PRP to increase the number of Medicare subsidised imaging examinations and we look forward to seeing the benefits surrounding this. " Dr Peter Carr, Acting Chairman, PRP Diagnostic Imaging.
